Lisa Gold

Dr. Gold is a licensed professional counselor and a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.  Her education includes a B.S in Psychology and a M.S. in Family Sciences from BYU, as well as a M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy and Ph.D. in Child & Family Studies from Syracuse University.  

Her experience includes 9 years of teaching college courses on relationships and human development at various universities and colleges including: BYU, Syracuse University, Virginia Tech,  Arizona State University, and Mesa Community College. 

In addition to being a therapist, Dr. Gold is also an Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and provides supervision and training to other therapists.  

She has received advanced trainings in two of the most empirically sound treatment approaches:  EMDR (see emdr.org) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)(see eft.ca).   She has received special training in order to become certified as an EFT therapist and an EFT supervisor:  the first therapist in Arizona to receive these certifications.
